I was driving home from the market listening to a local eclectic music station near me, KDHX, and this tune was on. A little simple tune, but in the fusion style from the late ‘70s/early ‘80s that I love. I wish my old friend Steve was still alive - as a fusion expert he probably had all of their recordings in his collection.
The music on this particular program was a lot like the kind of programming done by the fictitious Venus Flytrap on WKRP in Cincinnati on his show. I’ve been looking for something like this for 30+ years and I think I finally found it. Like the all Brazilian program on Mondays, I keep finding all sorts of good eclectic programming on this station. It reminds me a lot of the days when I used to bum around the radio station at the local community college back when I was in high school. Hanging out with the DJs, pulling various records and experimenting with new and different genres with which I was unfamiliar. A good foundation to build a love of music, something that continues to this day, 35+ years on.

Very cool stuff! Your mention of Venus Flytrap had me thinking that he also would play stuff like this:
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Jaco. Love that dude. His music was what convinced me to take up the bass.
You ever see the Joni Mitchell concert with Jaco and Pat Metheny? Pure awesomeness. I can watch/listen to that over and over.
